EARL BOSTIC!
Man, oh, man I can't believe sometimes what Mr. Bostic was able to do with his alto saxophone! There are many joys on planet Earth, but one of them is definitely listening to Earl Bostic records. By the music this man produced, you can tell he followed his "dream". I haven't found much about Earl Bostic except from reading liner notes in Compact Disc reissues, so I won't attempt a biographical summary of his life. It seems that Earl Bostic wanted to make himself and other people happy. One way he did this was to perform music that incited dancing. His big band was famous, his alto saxophone sound was so full and resonant that he could literally explode into the upper atmosphere. It's true, I read about it, he was the first man on the moon! Didn't you know that? He recorded some of his best music UP THERE IN ORBIT.
